One year ago today, the Topeka Seaman relays were cold raining, and downright miserable.  This year year however, the weather was perfect for running jumping and throwing.  In the first running event of the day the boys 4x800 meter relay team of Chryspus Muema, Alex Finestead, Nathan Wickoren, and Easton Moore crushed the rest of the field running the combined 3200 meters in a state leading and school record time of 8:04.41!!

Only an hour after the boys 4x800 ran, Loretta Achoki toed the line for the girls 1600 meter run.  She covered the distance in a time of 5:14.52, setting a PR of over 8 seconds and besting a 27 year old school record in the process!  She then later came back in the 800 meter run setting another PR of 2:21.76, good enough to claim 2nd in the race.

Traci Blue qualified for the finals in the 200 m dash and running a season best time ran away from the rest of the field winning in a time of 25.87.

Kia Rowden jumped 6 feet 10 inches to win the high jump.  His jump is currently the best jump in the state of Kansas!

Isaiah Simmons had several medal winning performances.  He jumped his way to 2nd place in the long jump, sprinted his way to a 3rd place finish in the 200 meter dash and was a part of the 4x100 meter relay, along with Triplett, Murphy, and Krump, that took 2nd.
